          - headgear
          - groin protection (males)
          - foam/vinyl gloves
          - foam/vinyl rib guard OR reversible hogu (chest protector)

     Blue, Red, and Black belts MIGHT want to also own: 

         - shin guards OR shin/instep pads (foam/vinyl OR cloth)
          - foam/vinyl boots
          - forearm OR hand/forearm pads (foam/vinyl OR cloth)
